“How Oprah Ruined the Marathon” ???
Have you all seen this?
I have to say that this person’s ramblings and opinions really made me upset. He comes off as an elitist snob that is basically telling the rest of us to not even try! At least that’s my opinion. Anyone else have any thoughts on it?
Rather than complaining about all of the 3.5+ hour marathoners out there, I think this guy should be happy and proud to see how the sport has grown! And be happy that ordinary people are challenging themselves and living healthier lives.

Hungry for more!
This last week was a busy one with work and other things but I did manage to squeeze in 6 workouts which is good! The weather has definitely taken a turn lately and combine that with the fact that it is dark here by 5:00pm, makes it hard to get any outdoor workouts in.
So it’s been 3 full weeks now since I started ramping up my training and trying to work on my aerobic base by keeping my heart rate low. I’m feeling really good other than I can’t seem to eat enough food….EVER! I’m always hungry and always eating!
It’s starting to get expensive and take up a lot of my time. I eat while I work, eat while I drive, eat, eat, eat! It’s a good thing I’m not doing this to lose weight cause I don’t think I’d stand a chance!

8-mile run
It’s been a busy week and I haven’t had much time to write or get out and about during daylight hours so have been hitting the treadmill and bike trainer. I’m hoping to have some free time on Sunday to do a long bike ride….let’s hope the weather cooperates!
Still working on my aerobic base….many more weeks of this to come! They’re not the most exciting workouts, but hopefully it’ll pay off!
