Sunny Day Bike Ride
Even though my riding partner had to cancel due to sickness (feel better Amy), I still managed to have a great ride on a sunny Seattle Friday! It was a warm - 62 degrees so for the first time this year I didn’t have to bundle up for a bike ride. I went down to Renton and rode on part of the Cedar River Trail and then headed off into May Valley and back over to Lake Washington. It was a good loop with a few moderate hills but nothing super strenuous.
Then, as an added bonus I decided to add on a bit of a brick workout so I threw on the running shoes and away I went. I was feeling pretty good after the ride, but my legs were definitely feeling like lead weights. I looked at my watch though and couldn’t believe my pace! I was running around 7:30 min/mile pace and it was fairly easy! I think my legs just kept wanting to go the same cadence as I was on the bike….they just kept going and going and didn’t want to slow down at all. Wow! I managed to do 3 miles before I realized it was getting late and I needed to go or else I’d be stuck in a traffic nightmare getting home. All in all a very good day and I was on a super endorphine high on my drive home! Can’t wait to do it again!
