No Energy Run!

Ugh…after a forced 4-day break from training, running today was super tough!  I wasn’t able to workout for the last4 days due to working 12 hr days lately.  It’s amazing to me what a little stress, lack of exercise, and not eating quite right can do to your energy levels and overall well-being.  I felt like crap the last few days and it really showed in my running today!  My body felt very heavy and super low on energy….it was really tough to do the same run that was a piece of cake 2 weeks ago.  I couldn’t maintain my usual pace either and even small hills felt like mountains.  ugh!  No more of that!  Must find more balance on my busy work days and make more time for myself to eat right and exercise.

Workout:

  • Type: Run
  • Date: 04/22/2008
  • Total Time: 1:10:00.00
  • Distance: 7.5 miles
  • Average Pace: 9:19.88/mile

I understand exactly what you are talking about with the 12 hour days. I work 12 hr shifts, 4 days on, 4 days off (at least for the next 5 weeks). It really sucks. Especially since it turns out to ruin multiple weekends in a row. Training for anything is very difficult-but what is really bad is I have to go 4 days without riding :( due to the time of day that I would have to ride or ride on rollers (boring when the weather is so great).

Good luck with training-I hope you can get back into the swing of things soon!
