New Swim Class

Today was the first day I went to a bright and early coached swim workout specific for triathletes.  Specific for triathletes simply means it is 99% freestyle!  I’m way too insecure to attend a master’s workout and have to do IM sets or something.  I don’t have a clue how to do any other stroke so freestyle it is for me!

The class is a ways from my home, so I was up and at ‘em at 5:30 this morning in order to grab a quick smoothie and head out the door.   The session was good and I felt like I got a lot of personal attention (probably cause I needed it more than anyone else!).  I think I’ll make it a regular workout - 2x/week.  Maybe someday I’ll get my swim times down!  :)
Pretty much guessing on the yardage today as it was a lot of drills combined with some normal swimming.

I love to continually challenge myself both physically and mentally. I recently started doing triathlons and running races and am hooked! I started this blog to help motivate and keep me accountable as I trained for my first ever half ironman (70.3) triathlon.  I successfully accomplished that and now have my sights set on even bigger goals - That's right, the real deal here folks!  I'm registered for the 2009 Ironman Coeur d'Alene on June 21.  Oh boy, I think I've lost my mind! Please help motivate, encourage, and inspire me so I can make it to the finish line! In return, I can only hope that by writing about my journey I can help to inspire at least 1 other person to make the move to a healthier more active lifestyle....and to take on their own challenges in life....whatever they may be!
