Wow!  It’s been a very crazy week and a horrible one for working out!  I’ve even had a chance to catch my breath let alone exercise!  :(  Did sneak in 1 tiny treadmill run though.  Next week MUST be better!  ugh - the joys of being self-employed!

Longest run ever today.  Took it super slow and tried to keep my heartrate low.  15 miles - ouch!

Run - 1 hours - 11/09/2008

Am visiting my parents in snowy ND so did a quick run on their treadmill.  It was 5 degrees outside!  brrrr!  It was 78 degrees in their basement and I was sweating buckets!  My HR was waaaay higher than it normally is and I was even running slower!  I assume this is due to the heat.   ugh!

Yazzo’s on the treadmill

Running short of time, but really wanted to get in some sort of interval workout, and with the crazy rain, hail, & lightning I decided to do some yazzo 800’s on the treadmill in the dungeon and was watching election results.  I’m still not sure why but I really love this workout!  And this time it was actually quite a bit easier than I remember!  Perhaps I’ll have to pick up the pace a teensy bit for next time?

I only had enough time to squeeze in 7×800’s but definitely felt good enough to have kept going.

7×800 @ 7:30 min/mile pace with 2:30 recovery (9:30 min/mile pace) in between each one, with a good warm-up and cool down in there as well.

Ok, back at it.

I’ve been MIA from the blog world for a while now! After my half ironman I took a 2-month break and tried to catch up on some other life stuff. Wow is it amazing how quickly one can lose fitness! YIKES! I’ll never do that again!

Anyway, I’ve been easing back into training for the last month (just not blogging about it) and need to get going on Ironman training since I have a long ways to go!

Today was a long run - 13.5 miles. Felt pretty good except the last mile or so the arches of both of my feet started to hurt!?! Odd, as I’ve done 13-15 mile runs (same shoes) for the last 3 weeks now and haven’t felt that. I did have a rather poor week’s worth of working out since I wasn’t feeling quite myself and had a migraine for 3 straight days! ugh! Hopefully that won’t happen again! Time to get back at it.

Long run

Nice long easy run from my house and around Green Lake a few times and back.  Foot felt pretty good and so did everything else.  :)  A bit crowded at the lake though with this nice weather!
